What is Bluetooth Wireless Standard?
Bluetooth makes use of 2.4GHz frequency band, and provides up to 2Mbps in data transfer rates over relatively short distances.
Bluetooth adaptation has been far wider in Europe that it has been in the North America -especially in USA.
Bluetooth does neither natively supports IP, nor does it support TCP/IP. It does not support wireless LAN applications as well.
It is has been targeted for providing wireless connectivity for handheld devices (PDAs, cell phones, and PCs) over very short (often for connecting devices that are no more than approximately 10 feet apart or so) distances.
Bluetooth wireless standard makes use of FHSS encoding, and allows the use of PPTP, SSL and/or VPN for security.
