Using IOGEAR Wireless Routers with Nintendo DS

IOGear | Nintendo wifi

IOGear Wireless-G Broadband (i.e. IEEE 802.11g compliant) Router Models # GWA504 and GWA502 may work with your Nintendo DS if you were to configure them to operate exclusively in IEEE 802.11b (wifi) mode. Furthermore, even though these IOGear wireless routers support several data encryption modes (i.e. WPA, 64 bit WEP ,128bit WEP, and AES), you may have to configure them to transmit in clear text (by disabling WEP altogether) if you are having problems in connecting your Nintendo DS to them.

In order to create a wireless link between your Nintendo DS and your IOGear wifi router, your would be configuring both of these devices such that their protocols, networking parameters, and security settings match. Essentially, it is a two step process: Step 1: Verify/Update wireless networking parameters on your IOGear router, and Step 2: Incorporate those settings in your Nintendo DS by saving them in one of the three Connection Save Files (CSF 1, 2 or 3).
