- Wayport
- Name of an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that Nintendo has contracted with to provide free Internet access (free hotspots) to Nintendo DS.
- Wireless Amplifier
- Wireless Amplifier is an electronic device that receives a weak (or low-amplitude) radio signal, and retransmits it after increasing it's amplitude -i.e. at a higher power level. Wireless amplifiers are commonly used to increase the signal-strength so that a radio signal can be transmitted over longer distances without being degraded significantly.
- Wireless Antenna
- An antenna (or an aerial) is an electronic component designed to transmit or receive radio signals. Antennas are constructed using one or more conductors (a.k.a. elements)arranged so as to either (a) transmit an electromagnetic field in response to an applied electrical signal, or (b) produce an alternating current signal when subjected to (placed into) an electromagnetic field -i.e. when subjected to electromagnetic (EMF) forces.
- Wireless Card
- A broad term often used to describe a host of wireless interface adapters -including wireless modems, wireless sound cards, wireless radios, wireless SIM cards, and wireless PCI/PCMCIA adapters.
