These 2Wire Broadband (Advanced DSL) Gateways not only offer excellent routing capabilities including support for Network Address Translation (NAT), and Network Port Translation (PAT); they also have a built-in DHCP Server, DNS Proxy, VPN pass-thru capabilities, and support for a Static Routes Table. Most of these carrier grade (TR-069 compliant) 2Wire gateways have an integrated ADSL modem, as well as a built-in HyperG/802.11g wireless access point. These Component Management System (CMS) standards based devices allow for in-situ firmware upgrades, and remote CPE diagnosis -features that are not only helpful to the consumers, but critical for the carriers when it comes to cost-effectively activating, provisioning, and maintaining differentiated broadband services -right from the Telco/Carrier Central Office.
